The govt peace committee said in a statement issued here on Tuesday that recent terror acts in Karachi and Mohmand by Taliban had adverse impact on peace efforts, adding that such acts should be stopped unconditionally. Reviewing the overalls situation‚ the committee reached the conclusion that success of serious peace effort is dependant upon immediate cessation of violence.

The nation is desirous of peace and we cannot play with its nerves for an indefinite period. The committee said government had showed full restraint since the launching of peace efforts, but Mohmand incident had wholly changed the entire scenario, and more parleys would be meaningless.

Meanwhile Interior Minister, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan Sunday said any external attempt to sabotage the dialogue process will be considered as hostility against Pakistan. According to sources, the Interior Minister was speaking to Maulana Samiul Haq, leader of the Taliban committee for peace talks.

Ch Nisar inquired from the Maulana what was causing a delay in the Taliban committee’s return form North Waziristan, as it was scheduled to make its way back today- Agencies
