Musharraf appears before court, indictment postponed

A special court hearing treason case against former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf will decide to charge-sheet him on February 21. A three judge bench headed by Justice Faisal Arab resumed the hearing during which Pervez Musharraf also appeared.

The court decided not to indict Musharraf today, and said it would first give verdict on whether it could hear the case, or the same be transferred to military court. The special court said that framing of charges against the Musharraf will be done after taking a decision over application against the court’s authority. After court's remarks the hearing was adjourned and Musharraf left the premises.

Earlier, Musharraf appeared before a special court after much wrangling. He arrived at the court’s premises under very tight security. Musharraf was to appear before the court on Jan. 2 but his convoy was diverted to Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology (AFIC) – where he was under treatment for heart problems.

The special court, headed by Justice Faisal Arab, resumed its proceeding earlier today and reserved ruling on a plea about shifting of Musharraf's trial to the military court- Online
