Gilani accepts responsibility for PPP defeat


Dealing with a media meeting here on Thursday, he said the PPP missing elections in southeast Punjab because it had not met the requirement of the individuals of this area for development of a new area.

“As a former pm, I am getting liability for the person's beat. Bilawal (Bhutto Zardari) was not accountable for PPP’s performance in the elections because there is no relationship between the person's performance and government’s matters,” Mr Gilani said.

He said Chief executive Asif Ali Zardari had not requested him to step down. “I have created the decision to step down according to the selection outcomes.” 



He said the requirements for achievements of a celebration was execution of at least 40 % of its manifesto while the PPP govt had applied 80 % of its manifesto. “The record will choose about our government’s performance as we have done regulation, enhanced facilities and improved energy creation potential.” Mr Gilani said the energy tasks released by the PPP govt would finish in two to three decades and on the reasons for this our competitors are declaring to get over the energy problems.”

He said he had recommended to the PPP authority that government’s period should be decreased from five to four decades because individuals usually got fed up with the lengthy govt period of any celebration. He said there were equivalent possibilities for both the govt and the resistance to provide the public and the PPP would perform an efficient resistance part.

Mr Gilani said many information would appear about the selection outcomes after a few times, including that his celebration was evaluating constituency-wise outcomes and would post a ‘white paper’ in this respect.

The former leading said there was a need to reorganise the PPP at partnership authorities stage to carry new authority.

He said initiatives were being created to marginalise the Muttahida Qaumi Activity although it had performed a democratic part over the last five decades. The MQM had an essential part in maintaining law and purchase in Karachi, he said.
