PM for constructive reporting of mega projects


According to Online newspaper Pakistan  Prime Minister Chaudhry Abdul Majeed has directed Public Relations Department of AJK government to ensure positive coverage of mega projects initiated and completed by government in media. He expressed these views during a meeting with Minister for Information Syed Bazil Ali Naqvi, Secretary Information Shoukat Majeed Mlik and Director Information Raja Naveed Hussain Khan here on Monday.

“We do not believe in fictitious announcements, which is evident from the concrete steps taken by government for socio- economic development of the state. The projects we completed can be seen on ground, Majeed said.  He said that his government with generous support of President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister of Pakistan established two medical colleges while third medical college would be functional at Rawalakot soon.

online newspaper Pakistan quote that he directed the Public Relations Department to ensure provision of timely information to media relating to performance of the government and highlight all the projects undertaken by government so that people could measure up the performance of present government and that of the successive governments.

 Prime Minister further said that his government played a significant role to strengthen the media and took a number of measures for welfare of journalists through Press Foundation and by providing grants for construction of press clubs at districts and tehsil level. He also assured that journalist colonies would also be constructed to resolve residential problems of working journalists. 

According to online newspaper Pakistan earlier talking to various delegations, Prime Minister reiterated that government is taking tangible steps for providing equal development opportunities to all regions of Azad Kashmir in accordance with the manifesto of the party.  He acknowledged that roads of the capital city had badly damaged and reassured that government is paying special attention to the construction and reconditioning of the damaged roads of capital city. He said construction work and widening of Tariqabad road is underway. Its completion would follow the reconditioning of bank road and other roads of the city.

The Prime Minister also took notice of the suspension of construction work on Mujahid-e-Awwal road from Kohalla to Dheerkot and made it clear delaying tactics for this project of national importance would not be allowed. He directed the officials of ERRA to resume development work on project without any delay. Talking to the Deputy Chairman ERRA on phone the Prime Minister directed him to release the funds for this project to remove the anxiety and concern of people of the area. Dy. Chairman assured Ch. Abdul Majeed that funds would be released in the next few days.
