Shutdown to be observed in IHK

According to online newspaper pakistan In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown will be observed, tomorrow, to express solidarity with illegally detained Hurriyet leader, Dr Muhammad Qasim Fakhtoo, who is behind the bars for last more than twenty years. Call for the shutdown has been given by the veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, and supported by pro-liberation leaders and organisations as well as the Kashmir High Court Bar Association.The High Court of the occupied territory had recently dismissed the petition of Dr Fakhtoo saying that he will be kept in jail for his entire life.


 APHC leader, Nayeem Ahmed Khan, in a statement in Srinagar expressing serious concern over the court judgement termed it politically motivated. Hurriyet leaders Zafar Akbar Butt, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, Firdous Ahmed Shah and Muhammad Farooq Rehmani in their statements also criticised the court ruling. Syed Ali Gilani addressing a seminar organised by his forum in Srinagar said that the people of Kashmir and Palestine had been offering matchless sacrifices for securing their right to self-determination and the day was not far off when they would get their territories liberated from foreign occupation. 


online newspaper Pakistan quote that Speakers at a meeting of different political and religious organisations at Zadibal in Srinagar denounced the curbs imposed by the occupation authorities on the Muharram processions in Srinagar. They urged the Kashmiris to maintain sectarian harmony during the Muharram. The meeting was presided over by senior APHC leader, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi and attended among others by Nayeem Ahmed Khan, Masroor Abbas, Advocate Zahid Ali, Sheikh Abdur Rasheed, Ghulam Nabi Zaki and Hakeem Abdur Rasheed. 

According to online newspaper Pakistan the spokesman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front and liberation leader, Javed Ahmed Mir in their statements paid glowing tributes to Sheikh Abdul Hameed and other martyrs of Aalikadal on the eve of their martyrdom anniversaries. On the other hand, one person was killed and six others were injured in a grenade blast in Jammu.
