Interior Ministry begs forgiveness over Kashmir statement


According to online newspaper pakistan Islamabad: The Interior Ministry has admitted its tantalizing erroneous blunder of declaring the Kashmir independence movement as a chaotic revolt within the Indian union, asking for nation’s forgiveness. Responding to a summoned explanation by parliament’s special committee on Kashmir Affairs, chaired by its chairman Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Tuesday, the Interior Ministry admitted its fatal mistake of using a hasty erroneous reference in its submitted statement, during Supreme Court’s review of Balochistan’s law and order case; while the ministry also informed the committee that it had submitted it’s amended note to Supreme Court. 

 Maulana impressed the fact that Kashmiri masses were struggling for their independence, which had been recognized, as legitimate according to UN resolutions as such their struggle could not be termed as a revolt, rebellion. The Kashmir Committee elaborated that Jammu and Kashmir being a disputed territory had a different status than that of other Indian provinces, and cautioned that great care and prudence should be observed over this sensitive disputed issue.


Expressing deep regrets and anger over this irresponsible attitude and mistake of interior ministry, the committee cautioned the interior ministry that care should be taken while issuing statements over such issues, including due awareness, consensus of foreign ministry. The Kashmir Committee also clarified that Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan were not provinces of Pakistan-Online
